To preach the gospel of the Kingdom in both word and in deed

In word: proclaiming that the love of Jesus poured out on the cross and sealed by the resurrection is a free gift for all who want to receive it. And then teaching those who receive Jesus how to follow Him as the means to abundant life and world change. (Romans 10:9-10, John 1:12, 1 Corinthians 15:1-5, Matthew 28:18-20, Matthew 24:14)

In other words, bringing people IN to the Kingdom

In deed: proclaiming that the love of Jesus poured out on the cross and sealed by the resurrection actually impacts the world for good by redeeming injustices such as poverty, human trafficking, marginalization, and underdevelopment. (James 2, John 10:10, 1 John 3:8, Isaiah 58:6-7, James 1:27, Micah 6:8)

In other words, bringing the Kingdom OUT to people

Nelson Mandela once wrote,

“Overcoming poverty is not a task of charity, it is an act of justice. Like Slavery and Apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings. Sometimes it falls on a generation to be great. You can be that great generation. Let your greatness blossom.”

Or as the Bible says over and over again,

“Free those who are wrongly imprisoned, lighten the burden of those who work for you. Let the oppressed go free, and remove the chains that bind people. Share your food with the hungry, and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from [those] who need your help.”
(Isaiah 58:6-7)

“What does the Lord require of you? To do justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly [with Him].”
(Micah 6:8)

“Religion that God our Father accepts is this; to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself unstained by the [the injustice of the world].”(James 1:27)

That is my vision.

Eradicating poverty; physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

At best, I am a simple follower of Jesus. At worst, I am a sinner who fails, and sometimes feigns, obedience. It is by the Holy Spirit, at the authority of the Father, and through the grace of Jesus that I am restored day by day. Either way, my life is His…
